The first visual communication is estimated to be over 17,000 years old, from the famous Lascaux Caves in South-East of France.

The different techniques of Internet marketing today are:

Organic SEO versus Pay-per-click: An advertiser pays the search engine only when their ad is clicked, their ad is put on the first page of SERP when they are willing to pay more than their competitors. Organic SEO does not need the company to pay the search engine. Instead, the company's website id naturally picked by the search engine's algorithm depending on the relevance of the search and the website's content.
Algorithm: it is a complex mathematical formula that determines which website is more relevant for a search term.
Backlinks: links on a website going back to another website.
Keywords: these are key words defining your company and area of competence so that you can be found via these words, not irrelevant words.
Off-site SEO: Step in SEO strategy where you work outside of your own website by adding backlinks on external websites to your own website.
On-site SEO: Step in SEO strategy where you insert keywords on the pages of your website.
Search Engine: engine or website allowing to search the World Wide Web for information. Examples: Google, Yahoo! And Bing and the most common search engines nowadays.
Search Engine Optimization is the process of improving the number of visitors to a website by making sure that the site is constantly high on the Search Engine Results Page (SERP).
Search Engine Results: results provided by search engines related to the search query.
Search Engine Results Page or SERP: page showing the search engine results.
Key Performance Indicators or KPIs indicate the performance of a website in achieving its call to action.
Web Analytics: Web analytics tools can report how many visitors, where they come from, which pages they visited, where did they leave… from these data, you can analyse the impact of a website on its users and update your website to improve the user's experience.
